Succeeding generations of the FRAPIN family have been established in the Charente since 1270, where their destiny has been truly extraordinary one. Anne Catherine FRAPIN was the mother famed French writer Francois RABELAIS. Pierre FRAPIN was apothecary to Louis XIV, who awarded him his coat-of-arms in 1696. A more recent Pierre FRAPIN founded the family firm in the last century. And it is his granddaughter, Genevieve, who presides over the destiny of the House today. With its peerless vineyards lying on exceptional land, the FRAPIN Family Domain today extends over 300 hectares located exclusively in Grande Champagne, officially ranked Premier Cru de Cognac in 1904. Of the total, 216 hectares are planted in the distinctive "Ugni Blanc" stock. The FRAPIN vineyards are unique in terms both size and location. Cognacs from Grande Champagne are the finest, the most intense, and the ones that age the best. This FRAPIN XO quality, reserved for VIP (Very Important Persons), combines age, roundness, bouquet and finesse. Amber old gold colour with the very rich bouquet with scents of spices and floral aromas specific to very old Grande Champagne distilled with the lees. Extra Old quality, enriched with much older Eaux-de-vie, from the family reserve, make this an exceptional Cognac.
