Savoury in character with distinct notes of cereal, nuts and bread. Palate has sweet touches of ginger cake which adds depth and complexity. A big and assertive whiskey.
Aromatic herbal notes on the nose. Lush toffee and warm rich chocolate on the palate.
There are flavors of spicy gingersnap, cinnamon, and toasted pecan … This is a drink of contrasts, showing pleasant malty notes along with some harshness, though in the end there is a general lack of harmony.
It sports a dusty nose full of dry corn and oaky spice. The whiskey is big-boned, juicy and sweet, but with a bitter streak of wood running through it. … Some very interesting components here, waiting for better integration.
The whiskey itself is a bit oaky, showing some vanilla and caramel, finishing long and slightly hot. I'd love to see a longer-aged version of this whiskey.
