In 1870, pharmaceutical salesman George Garvin Brown revolutionized the burgeoning spirits industry when he became the first to commercially batch and bottle his bourbon. Originally sourced and blended from three distilleries - Mellwood, Mattingly and Atherton - he sealed and signed each bottle, putting his reputation on the line to guarantee the whiskey's consistency and utmost quality. With this simple act of 150 years ago, Old Forester became America's First Bottled Bourbon. As the only Bourbon with an uninterrupted 150-year history we've endured our share of change, surviving Prohibition, World Wars and an evolving consumer palate. We are pleased to recognize our anniversary with this exceptional whiskey: 150 barrels, unfiltered and presented at at three different batch proofs to reference the original distilleries, all sealed in amber glass bottles inspired by our early packaging.
