Product Description
Old Potrero !8th Century Style Whiskey is our take on America's original whiskey. Made in San Francisco, it is twice distilled in a small copper pot from a mash of 100% rye malt -- the grain of choice for America's first distilleries. In the 18th century, barrels were made by heating the staves over a fire of oak chips, allowing them to be bent and formed into a barrel shape. During this process, the inside of the barrel would become toasted, but not charred. For a traditional flavor profile, the whiskey in this bottling is aged for a minimum of two years six months in handmade fine grain, new American toasted oak barrels. The result, a balanced complexity that expresses Old Potrero's traditional heritage. Hotaling & Co. is dedicated to creating small-batch spirits of many types of styles.
