Product Description

Born in 1853 from the son of an architect and master craftsman, Thomas S. Moore surmounted countless challenges in building his bourbon empire. Moore began making whiskey at what would become Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky in 1889. His distillery flourished, and Bardstown is now the Bourbon Capital of the World. Much like the Belle of Nelson, Moore's original bourbon brand paying tribute to the rearing racehorse, his legacy lives on today through his namesake brand. Made at the very same distillery with mineral-rich water from the Tom Moore spring, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in Chardonnay casks honors Moore's relentless ambition and his commitment to crafting bourbon whiskey that stands the test of time. This well-aged Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was emptied from its oak casks after many years of aging, and then refilled in Chardonnay wine casks, left to mature for several more years. The taste is rich, with notes of citrus, tropical fruit and buttery oak -- a tribute to the early bourbon aristocrat, Thomas S. Moore.

Aniseed toffee dances with rich oak, sweet dark fruit, and sharp citrus on the palate. Discover notes of old library, cedar, menthol, and earthy mushrooms, all leading to a slightly musty finish.

A light, zesty nose of lime peel and sultana leads into a creamy palate with vanilla, chocolate, and herbal notes, finishing with warming oak spice.

Sweetcorn, light spice, nuttiness and fresh oak aroma and flavours with heat and spice to finish.

An intense nose of fresh honey and dates with an underlying note of fig compote. There's intensity here with a beautiful nutty, buttery palate and lovely balance that seemlessly combines with spice and earthy flavours. Well executed.
Whisky Advocate · Susannah Skiver Barton · 2021
Much to unpack on this well-structured bourbon … The palate is tightly wound and needs patience to fully reveal its manifold flavors … It's tied off neatly with chocolate-covered peanuts, citrus peel, and sweet oak.

Distiller · Amanda Schuster
The aromas and flavor of this whiskey is what you get if you eat a fresh pineapple in an evergreen forest … A bit of pinecone and oak follow through in the finish with a slight bitterness.
