Persisting through a dynamic climate across four seasons. Virginia Distillery Company produces world class single malt whisky. Our mash bill is always 100% malted barley, and we use fresh spring water from the local mountains. We distill our whiskies in hand hammered copper pot stills imported from Scotland, age them a minimum of four years in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and finish them in a variety of esteemed casks sourced from all over the world, as well as right here in Virginia. Cabernet Cask select is a truly unique whisky, aged for several years in a first fill ex-bourbon barrels, prior to finishing in premium Cabernet Sauvignon casks from France and California, both renowned for producing some of the world's best Cabernet. Aromas of black cherry, cedar, apricot, and soft smoke meet noted of blackberry, plum, candied ginger, and rich chocolate.
