Persisting through a dynamic climate across four seasons. Virginia Distillery Company produces world class single malt whisky. Our mash bill is always 100% malted barley, and we use fresh spring water from the local mountains. We distill our whiskies in hand hammered copper pot stills imported from Scotland, age them a minimum of four years in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and finish them in a variety of esteemed casks sourced from all over the world, as well as right here in Virginia. Port Cask Reserve. After spending several years aging in first fill ex-bourbon barrels, this American Single Malt Whisky is finished in traditional tawny and ruby port casks sourced from premium Portuguese bodegas, along with Port style wine casks sourced in Virginia. Scents of honeycomb, walnuts, and gingerbread are met with a burst of bright lemon, red berries, soft smoke, and cocoa on the palate.
