What critics and judges wrote
Despite its lack of pedigree, at 6 years old this is lip-smacking whiskey … Intense, tasty, no-nonsense bourbon.
Fresh herbs greet the nose, followed by notes of marmalade, birthday cake, roasted peanuts, and musty antique shop. … A superbly structured, complex whiskey that makes for very easy sipping.

There are bold, bracing tannins of cigar box and menthol that balance out the heavy sweetness of orange jam and long-stewed fruit. Intense, tasty, no-nonsense bourbon.
Caramel-covered popcorn, cooked grains, Nutella, honey, and toasted rye bread. … The medium finish shows decent caramel. This is nice, but doesn't wow the palate.
Smooth and sweet in the mouth, with sweet cornmeal and sunny meadowgrass, a touch of candied cinnamon. A very friendly and easy-going bourbon, not too young, not too old.
Floral, waxy notes and a hint of spice on the nose. On tasting, sweet stone and tropical fruits emerge, complemented by a creamy texture and a touch of caramel. The finish is long and peppery.

Fruity nose with sweet oaked cinnamon spice, salted caramel and lifted notes of nutmeg and peppered popcorn. Characterful jammy hedgerow fruits with vanilla pod and a lemon sherbet bite.
Succulent and softly fruit-forward with an engaging fusion of sweet vanilla, oak and spice. The refined corn palate displays elegant lifted fruit and rounded oak characters, culminating in an appealingly dry and balanced finish with vibrant heat intensity.
This six-year-old bottling has a mild aroma that hints at caramel. On the palate, look for touches of toffee, espresso, brown sugar, clove and a meandering, grain-y sweet finish that some might compare to oatmeal cookies. Velvety feel.
Right from the get-go the nose is strong with young, underdeveloped notes of dried grass and underaged barley. … the notes of apricot and caramel seem to fight each other a bit instead of being fluid and building.
There is lightly honeyed vanilla flower on the nose. Then the palate gets on to the candied fruits, with strong clove notes and spicy warm and short finish.
