Made magnificent. The First Founded in 1823, Mortlach was for sixty years the only distillery in what is now the whisky capital of Speyside, Dufftown. Inspired Creators George Cowie and his son Alexander were brilliant creative thinkers who personified the vision and values of the great victorian engineers. George was instrumental in creating Mortlach. Alexander introduced the ingenious distilling method. Uniquely Distilled Mortlach is crafted using Alexander's unique process, so the taste of 'The Best of Dufftown' is not that usually found on Speyside. 2.81 Distilled Mortlach has a depth of flavour rarely seen in any malt whisky. Made by Malt Masters Our Malt Masters have skillfully combined a characterful range of different ages and casks to bring out all the complexity of the rich, swirling aromas and sweet savoury layers of flavour in Mortlach. Opulent Taste A bright amber colour introduces fruity notes of ripe plum, red berry and peach backed by a complex, nutty dryness, then a toffee-rich sweetness, becoming savoury with hints of light, spicy oak. On the rich, supple palate tangy, dense red sweetness to become rich toffee, muscularly backed by a savoury complexity. The smooth, sweet finish has an appealing late twist of peppery spice.
