Initially rather smoky and earthy, with a little water a dark fruitiness emerges, chocolate and nuts. Good depth and spice on the palate, the fruitiness is a little hidden. Beautiful, balanced finish with maltiness.

Vanilla, an apple fruit cuvée and lots of caramel rise pontently from the glass. Dark cherry aromas on the palate, plus liquorice and pipe tobacco. Slight pepper savouriness and some salt on the finish.
The nose is dominated by sweet caramel, fine vanilla and light hints of sweet apricot. The malty full-bodiedness has a fruity effect with a youthful use of wood. White pepper on the aftertaste.
Hints of sherry and subtle smoke are incorporated into the rich woody aroma. A tart base note on the palate with roasted barley. The finish is quite strong with a dry mouthfeel.
