This decade-old Basil Hayden entices early with a nose of fresh fruit … While the mouthfeel is a tad thin (a byproduct of lower proof) the palate is flavorful all the same …
A highlight of the Basil Hayden's line for its cherry cough drop and clove-studded orange flavors that nicely match sweet fruit with spice. … Very nice flavors, just a bit timid.
A bit of smoky, charred wood comes through on the finish. At just 40% abv it's quite enjoyable to sip, though a higher proof might have helped to make this limited release feel a little more special.
Flower garden, fresh herbs, medium oak spices and a medium finish. Nuts and dried spices, vanilla custard and some butter corn on the cob. A hint of spice, red cherries and some dark cocoa notes. Cedar boxes.
