Product Description

Floral notes, malty caramel & raisins unfold in every sip. Major James Grant created tall slender stills & unique purifiers to capture only the finest vapours. The Glen Grant Rare 18 Year Old matures in the highest quality hand-selected ex-bourbon and re-made hogshead casks which deliver a vibrant golden colour and rich floral and malty aromas. The complex palate of this liquid presents delicate notes of vanilla, butterscotch and raisins with hints of spice and a long finish. A brilliant inventor, a notoriously charismatic entertainer, and an unconventional world traveler, James "The Major" Grant inherited The Glen Grant Distillery, nestled in the rolling hills of Rothes, Speyside, when he was just twenty-five years old. Infatuated by technology and determined to create the best whisky in the world, The Major personally designed The Glen Grant's innovative, tall, slender pot stills and unique water-cooling purifiers in an unwavering pursuit to achieve his vision of the perfect single malt. The Major was one of the first distillers in Scotland to introduce purifiers into the distillation process, further refining our whisky by ensuring only the very finest vapours condense into spirit. The result is an elegant and aromatic style of whisky for which The Glen Grant is renowned. Display Tubes/Boxes: Display boxes subject to availability.

Fresh apple and pear aromas intertwine with a faint butterscotch richness. The silky palate is light, fresh and lively, opening with orchard fruit and fading to hints of violet, honey and smoke, plus white pepper and a ginger tingle.

Coconut and pineapple aromas lead into a flavorful palate brushed with tropical fruit and caramelized brown sugar. Adding water unleashes crème brûlée and a darker plum tone, finishing with a moderately smoky exhale.

The aroma entices with vanilla, fresh fruit and waxy honey. Meanwhile, palate surprises with spice and light smoke … Dilution makes this dram more easy sipping and plays up the vanilla, but doesn't change the peppery profile overall.
Falstaff · October 2017
The aroma begins cautiously, with hints of greenish banana and fresh grass gradually coming to the fore. The structure of the body is rather slender, the fruit aromas accompany the taste until the finish.
