What critics and judges wrote
A trilogy of vanilla, caramel and roasted grain creates a fine aromatic composition. Spicy and full-bodied from the first sip to the finish. Some coffee enriches the finish.

The nose is flattered by vanilla and some dried fruit. A light rye note, wood and liquorice are recognizable on the palate. The whiskey has a round body. Spicy finish with a fine woody note.
The high rye content delivers a laudable balance between the wood-sugar sweetness and rye spiciness … On the palate it presents sweet maple syrup with raisin and fig notes, black currant jelly, leather, root beer, and toasted oak …

Soft, elegant, and nicely rounded, with honeyed orchard fruit and gentle spice on a bed of vanilla and caramel. Very versatile; a pleasing, unchallenging bourbon to suit most moods and situations.
Nice nose with oak, still subtle hints of corn, vanilla and cinnamon. Taste is rye spice with burnt sugar, some tobacco and more rye. Medium finish where the cinnamon and rye in the mash bill come through again.
Soft floral notes with hints of fresh orange and pineapple sweetness giving way to ripe orchard fruits and condensed milk richness, with spicy heat intensity.

Enticing aromas of baked apple pie led to a warm, spicy palate of black pepper and smooth cedar.
