Oak, cedar and toasted almond aromas lead the nose. The first sips open quite drying and tannic; adding water pulls in almond butter and crème brûlée tones, finishing long with clove and cinnamon heat.
There’s some wood up front on the palate, but notes of single-origin coffee, açai, and cassis soon smooth it out. The finish turns darker, as dark-roast coffee, semi-sweet chocolate chips, Heath bar, and lemon peel take over.
The palate is rich, oily, and viscous, with caramel and spice flavors up front. Fruity notes of apple and pear appear toward the back palate with more spicy heat ushering in a somewhat abrupt finish …
Amber color. Aromas of vanilla cream, dried apple, and tobacco with a medium body and a medium dried peach, toasted spice, and apple fritter finish. Smooth Bourbon that is remarkably approachable, fine for a big rock or Manhattan.
