Product Description
One of the oldest bourbon brands in the U.S., Chicken Cock was established in 1856 in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky. Seven decades later it was a staple of prohibition-era speakeasies, including the world famous Cotton Club. Known as, "The Famous Old Brand," Chicken Cock died off after WWll, but has now returned to its rightful place in the pantheon of great American heritage whiskeys.

What critics and judges wrote
Oak takes the lead on the palate, but is tempered by lemon and orange zest, sweet black licorice, chocolate, peanuts, and popcorn. Crushed peanuts, milk chocolate, and pencil shavings persist on the finish, although it's fairly short.
This is a fairly light bourbon … The finish is dry with a touch of almond and woodiness. While not too assertive, its 90-proof would benefit from a little more depth or sweetness to balance it out.

Flavor scores are our estimates. A flavor scores higher when more critics mention it and when they describe it more strongly, so no single review sets the result. They are not a rating from any publication.
