I particularly enjoy the rich maltiness and oily texture that provide firm bedding and flavor contrast to the classic Islay notes: tar, boat docks, brine, smoked olive, seaweed, and kiln ash. … Long, warming finish.

Product Description
Hello. You're holding a bottle of THE PEAT MONSTER, our single malt Scotch whisky named for its big, peaty, smoky style. You'll find this whisky is about balance -- the balance between the power of smoky Islay malt whisky and rich Highland malt. We are artisan whiskymakers. For us, making whisky is like making art. You begin with an idea, a vision. You form it using both traditional practice and your own inspiration. Then you share it with the world. This is what we do. Beautifully restrained on the nose with a green fruit underpin, combining with layers of subtle peat and cracked black pepper. The bright palate evolves on the palate, enriched with sweet toffee.
Mellow and delightfully complex with big flavours of creamy vanilla, maple syrup and a touch of freshly cut grass. Possesses a nicely elongated, sweet, smoky finish.

The nose presents feinty, woody scents, a hint of salinity, sweet BBQ peat transition smoothly to a palate of sea smoke, brine, and leather. It is a dry experience with Islay smoke reminiscent of Ledaig, cheese brine, and saltiness.
Very smoky, with strong peaty notes throughout. Malty on the nose, some notes of straw, and some woody, nutty flavours. Some apricot. Nicely balanced. The finish is short.
An intensely smoky initial bouquet which then becomes creamy, concentrated, citrusy, mash-like, and very malty. At palate entry heavily smoked flavors of charred barley and kippers appear … An elegant malt despite its moniker.
