Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or ('golden nectar') derives its lemony, honey silkiness and sumptuous finish from the rare Sauternes barriques sourced from the most renowned French vineyards that are selected for extra maturation. A Journey of Passion... Our ongoing quest for perfection takes us on many journeys, exploring the world for inspiration. After much painstaking research, we have secured the very best oak casks from the greatest vineyards in the world in which to extra mature some of our whiskies. ... In the Footsteps of Pioneers Our pursuit of perfecting has endured for over 170 years, starting in 1843 with the installation of the tallest whisky stills in Scotland. It continues to this day with our insistence on using American white oak casks in which to age our whisky. These casks are ideal for Glenmorangie, imparting a natural sweetness to the elegant flavours of our spirit. Extra Matured In the early 1990s our passion for wood led us to experiment: we extra matured Glenmorangie in a different cask for the final two years of its maturation. To great success! This 'finishing' touch adds an enticing range of complementary flavours to Glenmorangie's already fine taste. Unnecessarily Well Made Non chill-filtered and bottled at 46% ABV, Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or is honey-like and silky in texture, with a sumptuous finish; an unnecessarily well made whisky, extra matured in Sauternes barriques. Smooth and elegant, look for a honey hue and notes of vanilla and lemon cream on the palate, finishing with baking spice and a puff of smoke. Adding water unleashes more creamy vanilla and citrus.

A decade in Bourbon casks, plus an extra two years in Sauternes barriques yields a fresh honeysuckle and vanilla perfume and a super-smooth spirit with creamy honey and nut flavors … Very few spirits have such elegance and silky finesse.

Lots of malt, caramel, a little milk chocolate and honey can be found in the rich nose. Toffee and chocolate fudge on the palate, accompanied by vanilla and light wood spice. Elegant finish.
