Product Description
Created from hand selected oak casks for perfect balace and flavour. The most richly flavoured for all Scotch whiskies. Distilled on the remote island of Islay off the West coast of Scotland. Select This special Laphroaig is created from carefully selected casks of each of our key styles, stretching back in time -- with one notable addition. The heart of the spring is drawn from a final maturation in new American Oak casks, rarely used for Scotch Whisky maturation. Six months of this maturation takes place in the highest, warmest reaches of our warehouses during the Scottish summer. With spirit selected by our master distiller from Quarter Cask, our PX Cask and Triple Wood (European Oak casks), it represents a subtle blending of peat, oak and sweetness. Bottled at natural colour, the result is an exquisite Laphroaig with our trademark 'peat reek' matched by an additional layer of complexity and depth brought about by the fusion of the maturation styles and different oaks, which we hope will surprise and delight you. What critics and judges wrote
The palate is simple, clean, and mild (and smoky), with bay leaf, light dried fruit, and that oily wood. Undoubtedly there's a lot going on, but it's not married, and 40% means it lacks the necessary wallop.
However, this everything bagel of a Scotch kinda works. There's just enough fruit from the wine cask influences, a sweet, soft waft of peat smoke … Just wish the flavor wasn't in such a rush to leave.
Bonfire scented ice cream, juicy peach, pastry and honey-laced white chocolate. Sublime smoky finish. Superbly made whisky with subtle flavour and power.

Toffee and zesty citrus notes combine with smoked orange, brioche and medicinal high notes. Delicately smoky with a sweet caramel finish.
While certainly on the smokier side of things, there are plenty of other things going on with this particular whisky, such as vanilla, toffee and a touch of citrus.
Very straight forward peaty and a tiny bit medicinal. With water it opens and shows some salty seaweed quality, earthy peat smoke and surprisingly sweet and fresh vanilla. It is youthful but already smooth for such and expressive whisky.
Incredibly complex nose with various oaks competing for position but the classic medicinal, smoky, peaty nose shows through. … Unusual is that the palate is ruled by citrus and ripe fruit while the peat retreats into the background.
Very well-balanced. This gives overripe banana, dark sugar which gives a brooding dram and delivers perfectly on the palate. The sweetness and the savouriness combine to make something quite fantastic.
