Butterscotch and smoke, with rewarding maritime and medicinal characters balancing the sweetness … Wave after wave of spices ride the smoke trails through the finish, carrying along some residual caramel sweetness.
The palate has great richness and opens to more layers of ripe berry fruit before finishing in a crisp biscuity character. A very nice value in an age statement blended malt although a slightly higher abv would be appreciated.
