Sliced apple, fig rolls, hot chocolate powder, baked orange, seasoned oak, and a wisp of light smoke like a red glow from burning newspaper. … The woodiest of Walkers, this concludes with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, and a catch of smoke.

Product Description
"As you take your very first sip of John Walker & Sons XR Twenty-One Year Old, give it the time it deserves - time to enjoy each and every layer of rich flavor. To create this mellow and indulgent blend, I've used an extremely rare three-stage blending method reserved for our most exclusive whiskies due to the time and complexity required. I crafted a deliciously sweet, creamy and spicy vanilla core using rare casks of 21-year-old grain whiskies from the now silent Port Dundas Distillery. Individual casks were carefully combined and given extra time for the flavors to marry and the exceptional smoothness to come through. When these flavors were perfectly balanced, I introduced further whiskies matured in American Oak, including ex-bourbon casks, to nurture the intense sweet heart of the complex blend. With the heart of the blend fully established, I built layer upon layer of rich fruit and malt flavors, drawing on selected reserves of the 21-year-old single malt whiskies, including from legendary Speyside Distilleries Mortlach and Cardhu. This exceptional blend of perfectly matured whiskies is supremely smooth and complex, with intriguing layers of intense toffee, luscious fruits and a sweet hint of creamy vanilla. Cloaked in smoke, it can be savored neat or on the rocks." - Johnnie Walker Master Blender Colour: Deep Amber Nose: Rich fruits and oak Blending Notes: Smooth, indulgent and complex, rich luscious fruits with toffee and hints of vanilla, cloaked in smoke. Great Whisky is ready only when it's ready, never sooner. That is why we have waited at least 21 years for the exceptional whiskies in John Walker & Sons XR 21 to mature, before carefully creating - step by step - every single layer of flavor. We then allowed the liquid even more time for the delicate smoothness and incredible flavors develop fully and combine perfectly. Our meticulous, three-stage method of blending has made this precious whisky creamy and mellow with a long finish. Take your time with it, just as we have.
