The sweet smoke is the underlying feature in this whisky but the complexity of the dram is what is most enjoyable. … Velvety and indulgent, the whisky finishes on the dry side with mouthwatering acidity.

Product Description
At Highland Park, we insist on an uncompromising approach to whisky-making. We're one of only a handful of distilleries that slowly malts its barley on a stone floor, TURNING IT BY HAND and thereby delivering a more balanced flavour. Next, we smoke the barley over AROMATIC PEAT, hand-cut from the Hobbister Moor to bring a unique fragrant heather character to the whisky. Then, the spirit is taken from the stills and carefully filled into SHERRY OAK CASKS FROM SPAIN, these deliver priceless natural colour and a distinctive honey sweetness, perfectly complementing the aromatic peat. Next comes the hardest part, leaving it undisturbed for 18 or more years to mature in the consistently COOL ORCADIAN AIR. When it's ready, we choose and combine our best casks, then leave them to settle and HARMONISE. The result is a uniquely smooth and balanced single malt, with a rich TOFFEE SWEETNESS and a long mouthwatering smoky finish. It's the kind of dram you long for when you've worked as hard as we have. Gently SMOKY but surprisingly SWEET is the perfect way to describe the uniqueness of Highland Park. The meeting point between the aromatic peat of Orkney and the sweet sherry oak casks from Spain ensure this perfect balance is always achieved. Inviting aromas of vanilla spice, accompanied by a hint of fragrant wood. The sweet palate reveals layers of cream and coconut, leading into a lingering finish of peppery peat.
Delicate nose with restrained peat and spice that is well balanced with gummy bear sweets, delicate fruit and gravelly smoke on the finish.
Sublimely flavoursome with lashings of ripe honeydew melon, sweet red berries and a generous waft of crackling bonfire smoke. Finishes gloriously with a delectable lingering vein of deep rich malt.
Peated, cask-finished single malt with sweet toffee and fudge flavourings. Fruity aromas with a slight smoke on the palate and on the finish.
Smoke and oak are in perfect balance … The favours on the palate are smoked cherry, light oak (which develops well with time in the mouth), some salty tones and more red stone fruits.
Very well-balanced aroma with sweet sherry notes and smoky nuances. Toffee notes are predominant on the palate and the whisky also has pleasant, extremely well-integrated peat notes. Strong, slightly salty, smoky finish.

Rather fine, elegant nose with fruit and malt nuances, smokiness is clearly in the background, subtle caramel. Also fine and elegant on the palate with remarkable drinkability. Long, harmonious finish with notes of malt and spices.
On the nose there are complex layers of sherry-like sweetness, toasty smoke and tobacco-like wood. Strong on the palate with nuts and roasted pancetta. Long finish with many complex wood notes.
Speyside-like malt sweetness, with creamy caramel, milk chocolate and a subtle saltiness. The palate mirrors the nose, with light floral nuances coming in the aftertaste. A hint of liquorice on the finish.
The smokiness can be described as subtle and adds complexity to the otherwise fruity aroma. Overall, a delicate product that is pleasant in the mouth without many edges.
Christmas warmth in a glass, its maturity showing in complex aromas of baked apple, poached pear, Christmas cake, cinnamon, gingerbread, and cloves … Nimble, spiced, and replete with flavors to treasure.

Gentle peat, soft toffee, floral notes, and honey on the beautifully fragrant nose. Superbly balanced on the velvety palate, with brittle toffee, stewed fruits, peat, honey, and a hint of coffee.
This Scotch is a big boy—look for assertive, brawny flavors and alcohol burn. However, it still has nuance. … The flavor grows more interesting with repeated sips—piquant peaty notes are joined by deep, complex toffee.

Opening aromas are of sea breeze, cigar smoke, oak and malted barley; … Entry is the most complex of any whisky; midpalate soars on oak, spirit and grain tastes. The greatest distilled spirit of this generation. Buy whatever you can find.
On the nose, there’s a hint of brine together with notes of sweet popcorn, BBQ ribs, sweet apple pie and brown sugar. The BBQ ribs note continues on the palate with added hints of beef jerky, salted caramel and chocolate.
