What critics and judges wrote
A luxuriously creamy body coats your palate with mild vanilla, butterscotch, restrained white pepper, and nutty plum pudding. Pencil shavings punctuate a medium finish. Less complexity than its age predicts.
While there is a presence of classic fruit and spice aromas and flavors, this whisky has a pervasive acetone presence. It is rather light-bodied for a mature sipping whisky … The finish is drying, with some spice coating the tongue.
Notes of caramel and dried stone fruit lead to a creamy palate of vanilla and dried fruit. Honeyed sweetness and gentle spice on the finish.
The understated bouquet features earthy scents of wet forest and pine … The delicious palate entry is richly sweet; by midpalate the honey character turns more like cream sherry and dates. The finish is toffee sweet and fudge-like.
