Product Description
There are plenty of things in the world that cannot be fully explained. One such peculiarity has emerged from the peat bogs of Islay. Said to be a feisty young creature, witnesses have spoken of its formidable bite. Senses are heightened with each encounter. First comes an intense aroma of cracked black pepper, mingling with sappy pine resin and the sharp tang of smoke. Suddenly, the explosive mouthfeel bursts forth with chocolate, creosote and tar. Savoury meats sink into the palate, before long the salty mouth-coating finish slinks away. At just 5 years old, the legendary smokiness of Ardbeg is untamed by age, revealing the inner beast of this Islay icon.

What critics and judges wrote
Salt water and seaweed, smoke and sweet peat tussle on the nose … This precocious youngster shows more complexity than some whiskies twice its age, making it a remarkable find.
Full of meaty peat characters with a medicinal texture and a light salinity giving a wonderful complexity on the palate.

Barley and smoke dominate the nose with powerful smoky overtones. On the palate fresh red apples with gentle leafy peatiness, slight cereal character. Ash-like fresh finish.
Sweetcorn and sweet smoke; this is a delicious whisky with lovely notes of soft marshmallow and hints of oak spice and sweet peat. Richly fruited, zesty with buttery pastry too. Perfectly balanced.
The ferocious palate opens with almond, spicy honey and peat smoke, plus a hint of barbecue sauce twang. Each savory sip finishes warming and intense, laced with eucalyptus, sea salt and cayenne.
Smoky BBQ on the nose, the typical dry peat is supported by an exciting sweetness. On the palate deliberately edgy, yet expressive, reminiscent of "pimentos de patron". Dry spiciness on the finish.
