Product Description

Pour yourself a dram of Benromach – not too wee and not too big. Swirl the golden liquid around your glass and notice the aroma without water. In other words, take a sniff. Indeed, indulging in several little inhalations is the best way to pick up all the different notes… rich sherry with fruit & nut chocolate, delicate spice, green apples, malty biscuit and a touch of light peat smoke. Now sip your dram, roll the whisky around your mouth and enjoy the taste without water… juicy raspberries and brambles, sherry, creamy malt and a light peat. Next, take in the aroma with water… it’s a wee bit nutty with a touch of charred oak and malt, and there’s also some fancy pineapple and kiwi. Add a drop or two of water to release the full taste with water. Savour the succulent mouth coating and taste the toasted malt, delicate peat smoke and lingering sweet sherry… our gorgeous classic Benromach Speyside style of single malt whisky. The nose offers a gentle blend of charred fruit and sweet smoke, leading to a palate rich with vanilla pod, milky coffee, and tropical notes. A well-balanced, lightly peaked character unfolds, finishing with dark chocolate and figs.

Delicate nose led by cake pastry and complex wood smoke aromatics. Savoury and grain notes on the palate with hints of sweetness.
Gold2022iwsc.net ↗
Oak is the dominant element at first with clove and ginger spice. It is supported by rich, rounded notes of sweet citrus and strawberry on the palate, balanced with bonfire embers, charred wood and malt biscuit.
Silver2021iwsc.net ↗
A lovely combination of fruit and smoke as charred dairy notes couple with sweet pineapple and liquorice on a well-balanced and rich palate.
Bronze2020iwsc.net ↗
Warm honey, crushed apples and fresh, red fruits prevail in this gently peated, youthful offering.
Silver2019iwsc.net ↗
This is a peated example, with sweet-and-sour elements, fresh peat smoke, bonfire and pencil shavings. A robust and straightforward style, well balanced with warming alcohol and spicy dried fruit on the finish.
Wine Enthusiast · Kara Newman · December 2017
This copper-hued whiskey offers concentrated caramel, pecan pie and oak aromas. The palate is oaky and drying, not as luscious as the aroma suggests, showing vanilla and spice, plus hints of baked apple and cocoa.

Whisky Advocate · John Hansell · 2010
I love the interplay here between the malt, sherry, and smoke, with all getting a chance to shine. … Still, this is one of the best efforts from this distillery. Well done!

Distiller · Amanda Schuster
Although this Scotch is peated like Islays, the smoke tastes more like campfire BBQ than rubber tires. The sweet flavors (vanilla, golden fruits, caramel) and the smoke mingle well …

A weighty, savoury, peated nose with hints of iodine and paint. The palate is equally full of flavour with notes of grain, peat and earthy spice to start, then rich wood, apple, red berries and smoke.

Pencil shavings, smoked sea salt, sweet and smoky bacon with burnt bread. The palatehas juicy apoples, pears, citrus blossom, slight burnt caramel. The palate is balanced with a sweet and spicy finish.
A nice summer breeze coming from the wood, floral and nutty with vanilla and bees wax furniture polish on the nose. The palate warms up to freshly baked bread, Biscoff and malty biscuitty pepper.
Grainy, fruit basket, linseed oil, very balanced.
