Caramel and toffee aromas introduce this soft and comforting single malt. Ribbons of caramel and nutty richness are braced up with cedar and oak, finishing long with faint espresso and dark fruit. Would be a pleasant dessert pairing.

What critics and judges wrote
The full aroma of old sherry casks with a tobacco base note and dried fruit is immediately apparent. The palate continues in the same way, with a hint of smoke preparing the long finish.

On the nose, figs with a hint of wood smoke, some cinnamon and concentrated fine cocoa powder. Analogous on the palate with hints reminiscent of incense and a long, delicately tart finish.
On the nose, notes of figs, laced with wood smoke, hints of cinnamon and concentrated cocoa powder. On the palate, similar to the nose, with hints of incense and a long, subtly bitter finish.
Lots of yeasty notes on the palate, brioche and slightly oxidative sherried tones. Solid in style with an extravagant interplay of aromas on the palate. Fine, wood-smoky spice and fruity wood are present until the long finish.
Aromas and flavors of dried rose pedals, potpourri with cinnamon and nutmeg, spiced date cake, and toasted hazelnut … Rich wine cask essence on the nose with a sweet, rich grainy palate and lingering oaky baking spice on the finish.
Tangerines, barley sugar, milky coffee, soft toffee, and sweet sherry on the inviting nose. Orange carries over to the palate, with spicy dark chocolate, ginger, and cocktail cherries.
There are a fair amount of layers to this 12 year old whisky starting with the aroma: dark honey, cereal, citrus, and vanilla. … it's a solid choice.
A woody nose is lifted by hints of ginger biscuits, before a bakery-load of sweet pastries arrive on the palate. … before honey, toffee and a subtle wisp of smoke bring more interest throughout the finish.

Initial musty cork and fortified wine soften into sultanas, figs, orange squash, creamy vanilla pudding, and caramelised apple and pear. Toffee, caramel chocolate, banana cinnamon bread, and apple with cloves and date syrup …
Cellophane, light cereal and dried fruits across the nose and tongue; water introduces more plastic astringency and sweet cereal.
