In 1865, 18-year-old James Concannon sailed from the rocky coast of Ireland's Aran Islands for America's fertile shores, this beginning my Great-Grandfather's quest for opportunity in a new land. Almost 150 years later, my family has proudly returned to Ireland to craft Concannon Irish Whiskey. For a minimum of three years, our fine whiskey is aged ni bourbon casks. The resulting Irish whiskey possesses complexity and depth characteristic of whiskey aged much longer. Integral to my families commitment to uncompromising quality, our time honored distilling and aging techniques produce an exceptionally smooth whiskey that my Great-Grandfather would have been honored to savor.

The end result is light-bodied and silky, with smoky flavor and touches of vanilla and lemon zest on the finish. Some might hope for a more wine-like profile, but it's pleasing nevertheless.
Very clean and fresh, with mouth-coating honeyed malt, vanilla, tropical fruit, and golden raisin. Fleeting, light oak finish. My only issue with this whiskey is that it tastes young.
With relatively low nasal character it is easily recognizable to be an Irish whiskey. The forefront of the palate is sweet like honey, but quickly develops in the herb department with fresh sage standing out, in particular.
