Peat smoke leads on nose and palate for this robust blended whiskey. Look for baked apple mixed with plenty of peat and a fleeting perception of vanilla sweetness, finishing with hints of lemon peel and black pepper.
The delicious palate brings stewed apple, currants, conference pear, raisin turnover, and brown sugar. Peat smoke infiltrates stealthily, leaving a finish of dried strawberries and pepper. This is a superb nightcap dram, and a great champion for smoky Irish blends.
